When I was out taking some of these pictures, I noticed that someone had put up a sticker for Tjen folket (“Serve the People”), a Communist group, at the local elementary school. I figured I’d cancel it out by adding a symbol of capitalism. Also, my MacBook came with stickers.
Tjen Folket is a fringe group. I bet the local chapter is just a couple of kids running around with stickers. Slightly more sinister is the fact that it was recently revealed that members of Tjen Folket held many high positions in SOS Rasisme, an anti-racism organization with lots of members and some influence, and that the communists had a secret plan to use SOS Rasisme to spread communism. I’m sure this could have been a plot worthy of a thriller movie, if not for the fact that there are maybe a couple hundred radical communists in the whole of Norway, they are in no position of power, they’re incompetent, and if you’re going to hatch a secret plan to take over the world, it’d be wise to infiltrate a group that influences people in ways other than reminding them how much racism sucks.
